Video: Ogier’s Hyundai WRC Portugal tactics accusations explained – WRC

Citroen’s Sebastien Ogier fired strong accusations at Hyundai World Rally Championship team principal Andrea Adamo in the immediate aftermath of last weekend’s Rally Portugal.

The six-time world champion accepted Hyundai ordering Dani Sordo and Sebastian Loeb to check in late to stages on Saturday and Sunday in order to give team leader Thierry Neuville a cleaner path, which meant visibility and road-surface issues were less problematic.

But Ogier later suggested Hyundai had gone too far, alleging that Sordo had been asked by Adamo to carry out “mean” tactics that would have interfered with Toyota driver Kris Meeke’s run.

Autosport Rallies Editor David Evans joins Jack Cozens to explain the saga, and discuss whether the team’s actions were sporting.
